Saying Hey Google, let’s drive | The Google Assistant Driving mode

Saying Hey Google, let’s drive, the Google Assistant Driving mode activates on your device.

This feature was first announced at the Google I/O event back in 2019. Some users have started seeing it appear on Android devices. The way it looks is a bit different though from what we saw at the I/O developers conference.

I’m not sure if this gradual rollout is for testing purposes or a release. I’m quite sure though it is activated by saying Hey Google, let’s drive and a dashboard appears. This generally helps drivers whose cars don’t have in-built navigation or touch screens.

To see if your device has Assistant Driving Mode, open Google Maps and from the navigation settings menu, and select “Google Assistant settings.” If it’s not enabled, you’ll be taken to the main Assistant settings section.

But if yours is enabled Hey Google, let’s drive. You should see it come up.
