So Apple launched the Apple Watch, Apple iPhone, and Apple AirPods this September. They said when you get stuck in a location with no cell service, you can use a satellite service to get help.
Well, this feature got a lot of people talking, about how cool they felt about it. I was personally impressed too. But it didn’t last for long.
It turns out the emergency SOS for iPhone 14, Apple gives users 2 years of free access to this service.
Apple’s Satellite Feature is free, but only for two years
So, Apple’s emergency satellite service comes at no extra cost for the next two years, but what happens after that?
Not to mention, being in a situation where I will not have cell service, and at the same time stuck, has a very low probability of occurring. But come on Apple, Why set up a service that costs so much, get our blood pumping, then slam us with the bad news later that it will cost us?
When will the Emergency SOS feature work?
The full details of the Emergency SOS service are still coalescing. Apple has not said anything about a standard price for its iPhone 14 emergency service.
Since the iPhone 14 is still new, Apple has a couple of years to decide on whether the Emergency SOS will be a premium add-on to iOS and, if so, how much it will cost.

Why do I have to subscribe to an emergency service on my phone? Well. all these are still speculations. Let us wait for Apple to get back to us on that.
Where will the Emergency SOS feature work?
Apple plans to launch the Apple’s Satellite Feature for all the iPhone 14 models. This will be available in November 2022, and it will be available to iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max users in the US and Canada.
Emergency SOS service for iPhone 14 will be available in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, but it will not be available at launch in Guam or American Samoa.
Foreign travelers will be able to use the Emergency SOS service when visiting the US and Canada, unless they bought their iPhone 14 in China, Hong Kong, or Macao.
